Crafting the Mind is an exhibition of contemporary fiber art that speaks to the early history of craft as a therapeutic practice at McLean Hospital, New England’s first psychiatric hospital. The artists in the show use textiles to voice their experiences, enact resistance, and embrace the long history humans have with cloth – as clothing, shelter, corporeal memory and metaphor.
